HAZELNUT GROWING GUIDE
The first producer of hazelnuts in the world is Turkey with a production upper to 70% of the total of collected hazelnuts, followed by Italy with 14%, the United States (in particular Oregon) with 4% and Spain 3%. In recent years there have been realized several new hazel plants in Chile, Argentina, Georgia and South Africa.
SPECIAL HAZEL PLANT
The hazel plant has a characteristic bushy structure, with the very extensive radical apparatus and with a depth that varies depending on the characteristics of the soil. On the same plant has both male flowers, called catkins, pollen producers, both female flowers recognizable by the distinctive red “tuft”.
HAZEL, UNIQUE CULTURE CONTRIBUTION TO THE PSR
The hazelnut is the only woody agrarian cultivation financed by 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 measure of the RDP 2014-2020.The capital contribution is equal to 50% in the case of young people belong to the measure 4.1.2. and 40% in the case in which the company adheres to the measure 4.1.1.
